The Tombak (Zarb) is the primary Goblet Drum of Persian Classical music. The one pictured here I carved in 1999 and it is somewhat smaller, weighing considerably less than the typical instrument. It was carved from a single log of Walnut wood and has a membrane of Camel skin, affixed with glue and patience.
