Dao-Dao is the onomatopoeic name I adopted for these instruments long ago, and it has stuck with me. I don't know where it came from, but they are to be found in the Philippines and Indonesia, where they are known as Balingbing. They are made from a double joint of bamboo that has been partially split and tuned to itself.
